ABOUT WORKSHOP  

Underwater archaeology is a subfield of archaeology that involves the investigation of submerged archaeological sites, such as shipwrecks, sunken cities, and other submerged cultural and historical sites. This field of study has gained considerable interest over the last few decades, as advancements in technology have made it easier to explore underwater sites and recover artifacts. The study of underwater archaeology involves a combination of methods and techniques from various disciplines, such as archaeology, marine biology, geology, and oceanography. The primary goal of underwater archaeology is to understand the past by exploring and documenting submerged cultural and historical sites.


This workshop is intended to provide an opportunity to young researchers to understand the very basics of underwater archaeology. This programme aims at:



The workshop programme comprises of the following:

Extensive Lectures by experts on Underwater Archaeology, Marine Sciences, arine Archaeology, Marine Preservation and Conservation, Artificial Reef Building, Maritime Law, and more;

One to One Discussion with experts from central and state universities, veteran naval officers, scuba experts and underwater archaeologists;

Practical Diving Experience:

Underwater Photos and a short video from your dive;

Local Transport* to the dive center and jetty from the venue, workshop kit, brochure, and certificate.
